My name is Mayra Fajardo and I am studying marketing management at Baruch College. I am the marketing intern at the American Red Cross. My aspiration is to create an impact through my work and involvement. A fun fact about myself is that I enjoy writing poetry during my free time.


Kelly Molina

I am from Colombia. I grew up in Cartago (a small town famous for its handcrafted products and embroidery) and moved to the United States in 2011. I am a Senior at Baruch, and this is my very last semester. My major is Corporate Communications and minor marketing. I work fulltime at Classica, a division of Regal Ware, as a marketing assistant. I am extremely passionate about social media and digital marketing. My short term goal is to get into the non-profit sector and make meaningful contributions in marginalized communities. A fun fact about myself is that I have been obsessed with apartment decoration, tidying, and organization. I organized my apartment following Marie Kondo's style.


Chris Pyo

My name is Chris Pyo, and I'm a junior at NYU majoring in history and journalism. I'm thrilled to be serving as an intern for the communications department this upcoming semester at the American Red Cross! After college, my goal is to either attend law school and become a criminal lawyer or pursue a career in journalism. A fun fact about myself is that I'm a hip hop, rock, and classical music aficionado, as well as a gigantic New York City sports fan.

My name is Wei(Will) Wu, a Social Media Intern at Greater New York Region Chapter. I grew up in China for most of my life, and this is my third year in the US. I am a junior at New York University, majoring in Media, Culture, and Communication. I am always eager to try new things and learn from people with different perspectives and views. My name is Sarah Cassidy, and I am a Community Relations intern here at the American Red Cross. I am in my junior year at Fordham University where I am studying Psychology and English. While I am unsure of my future career path, I plan to continue my education by going to graduate school. A fun fact about myself is that I went cliff jumping off the coast of Wales.


Liwei Cheng

My name is Liwei Cheng and I am right now a double major in Corporate Communication and Psychology from Baruch College. I will be the community relations intern at the American Red Cross in the spring, and I do hope to enjoy this fantastic experience with each of you on board. I would like to go deeper into humanitarian issues later in the future, so the Red Cross is an amazing start. One of the most important reasons why I would like to join the American Red Cross is that in 2008, when a catastrophic earthquake, 8.0M, hit my hometown, Sichuan, China, the Red Cross from the globe lent helping hands, and I truly appreciate the tremendous amount of help that my hometown has got from the globe in recovery and growing so big.

Kimberly Geoffrey is a student at Monroe College NYC currently studying Public Health and Psychology. She loves contributing to the community. She has continually been volunteering in many community organizations and was once the local chapter Vice president at Leo's Club St.Lucia. Her goal in life is to help people and communities wherever it is needed. I do not only want to see the world as a better place, but I want to contribute actively to a better world.

Hello, I am Patricia Byrne. I am currently a Junior in college studying Marketing. My role here at American Red Cross consists of interning for Non-Profit Fundraising - individual and foundation partnerships. I aspire to learn more about non-profit organizations and someday do business for the good of the world. A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and my favorite place I visited was Florence Italy.

Hello! I am currently enrolled in the MS in Nonprofit Management program at Columbia University. I am more than happy to be a part of the American Red Cross family. I am a currently a junior studying Public Policy and Global Liberal Studies at New York University, and pursuing a fifth year Master in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy. I have also been involved with Amnesty International for seven years and am currently the President of Amnesty International at NYU, and New York Student Activist Coordinator, and the Youth Delegate to the Global Assembly for the United States.

I attend St. John's University where I am majoring in Homeland Security and in the Homeland Security/Criminal Justice Leadership Master's Program. My aspiration in life is to one day work for the FBI in the Cyber/Counterterrorism Unit or become an Intelligence Analyst. When I was 12 years old I volunteered at my elementary school's after-school program. I did it because I was forced to by my homeroom teacher. But that experience lit a fire in me that pushed me to continue helping others as I grew older. My service continues to this day. As a junior at St. John's University majoring in Homeland Security, I am able to serve in communities around campus and help more in need. I chose Homeland Security because it allows a person like myself who loves service and protecting those who are most vulnerable in our society, the opportunity to pursue that as a career. That's why I am so glad to be interning and learning from the premier non-profit disaster relief organization, the American Red Cross. The work the American Red Cross does in helping those in need in our country and abroad has inspired me and guided me on my current career path. It is such an honor to be able to contribute as a Disaster Response Management Intern. In closing, a Fun Fact about myself is that I love watching films, especially ones directed by Stanley Kubrik.

Arabelle Pierre-Louis

As a curious individual, Arabelle Pierre-Louis has always found interest in making a difference in the lives of individuals even if it is just a smile and a "hello". Arabelle is a Brooklyn College student majoring in Psychology with a 3.7 GPA. Interning at the American Red Cross was a perfect opportunity to expand her professional skills and continue to learn from her peers. She currently works on a project in which she helped launch a senior recreational center in Haiti known as Centre Recreation Des Personnes Ageès. Her drive to continue to help those that are not valued in society has impacted her desire to continue to encourage those in need in any way she can. Arabelle has learned that hard work doesn't always have a pre-determined formula which is why she loves cooking and trying exotic foods!

Jazmin Bennett

My role at the American Red Cross is Intern, Services to the Armed Forces. I realized as a young Girl Scout that I had the ability to be the instrument of change and help others in meaningful ways. I have extensive volunteer experiences working with homeless shelters, soup kitchens, senior citizens, young children, and animals. I have gained knowledge and skills that enable me to identify issues and address the needs of others in a caring and effective way. This led me to my Major in Sociology and Minor in Criminal Justice, which teaches me about the details of law enforcement but more importantly rehabilitation, supportive services and how to improve the lives of people within communities. I intend to continue to focus on my academics while helping others and conclude with a career that has a positive impact on communities. My favorite hobby is horseback riding.


Menendez, Arianna

I am currently completing my MS in International Communication and I hope to work for an organization that focuses on creating change that is beneficial in different communities, specifically for minorities. A fun fact about me is, I really want to learn how to tattoo in the next couple of years once I'm more confident in my drawing technique. I have registered as a volunteer at the Red Cross Society of China for six years. After working for the IFRC East Asia delegation in summer 2019, I hold greater interest in the Red Cross Movement. My name is Kaitlyn McDermott and I am currently a Junior at Fordham University with a Digital Technology and Emerging Media major with a minor in Marketing. Originally, I am from Monmouth County, New Jersey. I am interning with Volunteer Services as a Visual Storyteller. I hope to learn more about nonprofit work, as well as specific cases of people who have been aided by the American Red Cross. I am eager to gain knowledge, as well as gain first-hand experience. My name is Nathalie Taylor, I was born in NYC and raised in South Florida. I am a senior studying Communication Arts, and I moved back to NYC as an aspiring photographer, who loves to capture portraits and cityscapes. My role here at the American Red Cross Greater New York Region will be within the Volunteer Engagement Team as a videographer and photographer.
