CUNY Service Corps
CUNY Service Corps has two program goals: for students to gain valuable real-world work experience and access to professional networks and opportunities while engaging in service, and for communities and partners to realize concrete benefits as a result of CUNY Service Corps projects.
The program provides students at eight CUNY campuses with paid opportunities to gain work experience while serving city agencies and community-based organizations throughout New York City.
We are thrilled to be hosting a team of CUNY Service Corps members at our Greater New York Region.

Martin Feld
Disaster Relief Service Corps Member
Hello! My name is Martin Feld and I'm currently a junior studying at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I'm majoring in Forensic Psychology as well as doing a certification program in addition studies to get my CASAC. One of my aspiration and goals in life is to help reduce social stigma revolving around individuals who abuse substances. I would love to work within the field of harm reduction and educate others about the lives of individuals dealing with substance abuse and how as a nation, we can bring an effort to help individuals in need who may be suffering from the repercussions of continuous substance use. Throughout my experiences in my work life, I have developed strong interpersonal connections and managing abilities, which came from my previous jobs which were all service related and required me to provide service to others. A fun fact about me is that I have been playing saxophone for over 10 years, and I am able to play every single saxophone (there are 5 major types). I also just recently purchased a motorcycle and I have been having a great time learning how to ride and just overall experiencing the ineffable feeling of being on two wheels.

Hello! My name is Angela Lopez and I am currently a junior at John Jay College. I am a Forensic Psychology major and minoring in Homeland Security. I always had a passion for helping people in any way possible. In my freshman year of high school, my mind has been set to be part of the FBI. I would say shows were a small influence in that decision but my friend's father was my biggest. A fun fact of mine is I love learning about different languages and cultures. As of right now, I am studying a bit of ASL and Korean.

Hi, I'm Christel. I am a junior at John Jay currently majoring in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Security Management. With that I aspire to pursue a career in the Law Enforcement field while also planning to get my masters in Mental Health Counseling which can help contribute to that existing career. Some of my strong skills includes communication, leadership, team work, management and the list goes one. I am also a strong believer of diversity and equality. In my free time I enjoy re-watching my favorite shows and listening to music on blast (*which isn't healthy by the way but it brings me comfort.)
